    Starbucks Reversing Negative Perceptions

Starbucks, a long-time partner of Asda’a bcw, has a record of receiving accusations of maintaining a political agenda that is unfavorable to many countries in the Middle East, and Jordan is no exception. Regularly experiencing protests, negative media coverage, and un-maximized business potential as a result of these widespread claims, Starbucks was in need of a tactic to both quell the falsehoods and increase its business.

Orange Jordan Crisis Management & Government Disputes

In 2014, Orange Group filed an international request for arbitration with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and registered allegations with the Higher Court of Justice (HCJ) and the Amman Court of First Instance against the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) and the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The charges came after the TRC set 2G license renewal fees at a price that Orange Jordan deemed unfair, based on previous benchmarks and situations with other telecommunications companies, at which point the company had two choices: pull out its investments entirely from Jordan, which would be a drastic setback to progress made with the country’s ICT sector, or cut its budget, including CSR activities and regular refurbishments to network provisions, to be able to pay the fee and continue its services for its millions of customers.
